How To Upgrade Minecraft Gear? Using Smiting Table

The strongest tools in Minecraft are now made of Netherite, an upgrade from Diamond gear.

As expected, Netherite items have higher durability than Diamond items, but they can also float in lava and they don’t burn, which is a huge plus.

Here’s how to upgrade your Diamond items to Netherite items:

Get a Smithing Table, either by crafting one using Iron Ingots and planks or by stealing one from a village.

Combine your Diamond item with a Netherite Ingot using the Smithing Table.

A smithing table has two functions in Minecraft, to upgrade gear from diamond to netherite and acts as a jobsite block for the toolsmith. Toolsmiths are useful as they will convert mined items into emeralds as well as provide enchanted diamond axes, pickaxes, and shovels. The smithing table is required to upgrade a tool into netherite which is the highest tier you can achieve in the game.

If the villager has been traded with, their profession has been locked in and they cannot change professions. An unassigned villager will search nearby job-site blocks if they have claimed a bed. If they are the first villager in that area (You cured a zombie villager that wasn’t near a village), it will take time for them to establish that area as a new village.
